• How can I work out how much space I need?
  There are several options here. You could click here to use our guide to how much space you need to store the contents of different sized houses or apartments, or you could call us with some details of what you are trying to store and we'll work it out for you.
  
  For a simple guide to how big a storage room is, take 100 sq ft as being approximately the size of a single garage; hence 50 sq ft is half the size of a garage etc. On the smaller side, a 25 sq ft room is about the size of a typical cloakroom (imagine a room which is 5ft in one direction and 5ft in the other).
  
  A locker (as opposed to a room) is only about 3ft (1.0 metre) high; a room is 6ft 6in or higher.
   
• Can you provide an extra pair of hands for a collection (or delivery)?
  Yes we can. We normally only send a single man and a van to help you move your goods, in which case you are responsible for finding some friends to help you load and unload the van. If you can't get anyone to help on the requisite day (or if you've got no friends :( ) then we can provide another pair of hands at a charge, which depends on how many hours they are needed for. Please call us to discuss.
  
  
• Can you receive boxes on my behalf?
  Yes we can. We will sign for small items from couriers and keep them for you for a few days only. Please note that there is a small charge for this service (£3 a time) and we accept no liability for any loss or damages related to this service.
  
  
• Have you ever had any security problems, for example people breaking into the warehouse?
  No. We have CCTV, sophisticated burglar alarms systems, with vibration sensors, motion sensors and door contact sensors on site, as well as smoke detectors for fire. These are linked to a 24 hour monitoring station and the police and fire brigade. You will padlock your own room and retain the key.
  
  
• Why do I have to pay a deposit?
  We retain a one month deposit (fully refundable at the end of your storage term) because, unfortunately, some customers clear their goods and move out before paying the final instalment of their storage rent. The deposit covers us for this rather common scenario, and we have learnt through biter experience that we need to take this deposit even when a customer is paying for several months in advance.
  
  
• What happens if I want to extend my storage term?
  We always assume that your storage term will roll on unless you tell us otherwise, i.e. give notice . Normal practice is that we send you an invoice for the following period 14 days before the end of your current or 'paid-up' period; the appropriate amount is taken off your card at the start of the new period. Note that we do require 14 days notice of your intention to leave.
   
• What does your insurance cover?
  Please see our insurance summary here. Generally, it's pretty comprehensive. There are two exclusions to note:
  • There is cover for theft if there is clear evidence of forced entry. If something mysteriously goes missing without forced entry having occurred, the underwriters are likely to take a dim view.
  • Your goods are not insured for damage in transit to the facility, whether in our vehicle or yours. If we are providing a collection service, you remain responsible for packing your goods safely in your boxes, and for securely packing the boxes onto the van. Only if there is a road accident will our insurers consider paying for damaged goods inside the van.
