Furniture Storage
For furniture storage in London or the south-east, we offer a great value solution. We have the lowest prices for furniture storage in the south-east and we offer our long term customers a free man-and-a-van service covering the whole of London as well as Sussex, Surrey and Hertfordshire. Our prices are often only 60% of those charged by competitors, so you can save a small fortune for even the smallest amount of furniture storage. Even if you’re storing for only three months, you can benefit from our free van hire for the day that you move in. Our warehouse is dry and has a lift for access to all floors; each of the units is secured with the customer’s own padlock. The warehouse itself is fully alarmed for both fire and theft, features an extensive CCTV system, and is patrolled by security guards.
If you’d like to get a quote for your furniture storage, make a list of your goods and email it to us. We can give you an idea of how much space you need and how much you can save! Don’t forget to book in advance – our warehouse is usually quite full, and we do need time in advance to book a collection, should you need one.
A few tips for making sure your goods stay in good condition during their stay with us:
- Your goods should be dry and clean before they go into storage. Any moisture will, over time, cause mould or worse.
- Cover your furniture (especially sofas and other fabric-covered items) with dust sheets. Dust gets everywhere – there’s no escape!
- Delicate furniture should be wrapped up carefully, either in bubble wrap or in a padded paper sheeting
- When you’re packing boxes, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Use good quality boxes – you’ll be cursing if the bottom falls out of a weak one.
- Don’t overfill boxes – make them too heavy or too full and they will split.
- Put heavy and non-breakable things at the bottom, light things towards the top
- Fragile items should always be wrapped in bubble wrap and packed very carefully.
- Write the contents of the box on the top and sides of the box - when you’re sorting through your unit several months later, trying to find the widget you packed, you’ll be able to see the sides of the boxes more easily than the top
- Write out an inventory of goods and keep one copy for yourself, and give one to us. It protects both you and us in the event of any accidents or problems. It’ll also help remind you where you put things – a common problem!
- Bring a reasonable sized padlock (shank of no more than 6mm) to secure the room
- Make sure all your packing is complete before we arrive! We won’t pack for you, and we expect that everything is ready to go when we arrive.
